Tea and a Poem: Lemon Verbena

I’m a fan of lemon-flavored teas and also of using things fresh from my garden. Easy, breezy “recipes” are even better.

It doesn’t get any simpler or more natural than this.

Pick a few leaves from your Lemon Verbena, pour a cup of boiling water over them, let steep, and voila – Lemon Verbena Tea.

Lemon Verbena Tea

– 3 fresh lemon verbena leaves per serving (rinsed clean)

– 1 cup water per serving

Boil the water. Put the leaves in a teacup and cover with the boiling water. Steep for at least 10 minutes, and serve with sweetener, if desired.

My new “Gaia Oracle Cards” – these just spoke to me and I felt like they needed to be part of my card collection, I was drawn to them.
The magickal properties of Lemon Verbena are “love and purification.”

“Lemon Verbena”

If I were allowed only to grow

One fragrant herb I know,

I’d choose Lemon Verbena.

Oh yes, my views are prejudiced,

I’ll admit it’s so.

But I love the way

She scents my garden

At close of day.

On a silver plate,

In a crystal bowl –

A spray of her leaves

Delights my soul.
